89 year old character actor, Charles Durning has died. Sometimes referred to as “The King Of Character Actors”, Charles Durning survived wounds during WWII from a mine and other combat to win three Purple Hearts and to begin a long career in Hollywood films including roles in great films such as THE STING, DOG DAY AFTERNOON, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, DICK TRACY as well as Primetime Emmy Nomination for best guest actor in an episode of NCIS as well as for episodes of RESCUE ME.

The former war hero had an amazing career of acting in Hollywood films as well as a few memorable TV roles in his long career which ranged from 1962 until 2011. It was an incredible legacy for anyone to achieve. What a great career, what a fine actor.
