The OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY managed to single handedly pull off one of the most offensive faux pas’s ever today when it decided to choose the word “bloodbath”, and then almost promptly issued an apology. Why do this? Why?

There is no shortage of words in the English language that might have been a suitable candidate today. But, instead this word of all words had to be chosen, which would only hurt or offend many persons. What’s wrong with those folks at the OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY? Is someone there just not hooked up right or something?

This tragic murder of so many young children has shocked the entire world as a major international crime story, so it wasn’t like the management of the OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY didn’t have a clue here.
