The New Year has brought about a lot of changes, one being Charlie Sheen’s new attitude; a calm and low key one.

Um, come again?

In case some of you are baffled, as I was, let me clarify. I am speaking about the same Charlie Sheen who went on a psychotic rampage in which he thought he was a “winning” warlock from Mars, but was clearly losing…in every single way possible – losing custody of his kids, losing his starring role on “Two and a Half Men” and basically losing his damn mind. But it looks like we no longer have to worry because according to Sheen, acting like an insane lunatic was SO 2011.

In an interview with People Magazine, Sheen says, “I think I’m a different person than I was yesterday. Everything is a lot more mellow and focused and much more rooted in reality.”

That’s a complete 360 if I’ve ever seen one. Crazy Charlie even went from babysitting his porn star goddesses to babysitting his own children. How sweet! He tells People, “I’ve been spending a lot of time with the kids, a lot of time with the family and I’m getting back into work mode,” adding that he is goddess-free these days. “I’m a single guy hanging out with my children.”

The actor is also working on a new television show, which he will be producing and starring in. And the title? “Anger Management.” Could this be an autobiographical show?

Anyway, it looks like Charlie is on the right track, which makes me wonder: were his antics just a ploy for attention or was he really able to completely transform himself within a few months? Is it really possible to go from a raging, drug addicted, party animal, hotel room destroyer, tiger blood drinking fool to an attentive, involved father and successful producer/actor? I’m going to say: heck no!

Personally, I think Sheen is all talk. He may not be behaving outlandishly in public, but that doesn’t mean he is refraining from this behavior in his personal life. I’m sure he isn’t suddenly a straight edge, couch potato who spends his days watching old reruns of “Two and a Half Men”. He’s out partying, for sure. This year, he just happens to be better at keeping his private life private. Except for the being a good father part, that aspect of his life he wants to make very public. Case in point being the phony happy family vacation photos that were posted online. Please click here if you want a good chuckle.

I do, however, applaud Sheen for being able to better conceal his wild side. I was getting sick of seeing his wasted face on the news and his stupid comments became quite annoying to say the least (they still ring in my ear from time to time). This toned down image aka pretend persona is way more bearable. Thank you Charlie! My 2012 just got a whole lot better.
