Actress Sean Young was on The Late Show With David Letterman last night for no apparent reason other than to beg for work. You can watch the video below, but be warned, it might give you a queasy, uneasy feeling.
Sean Young was one of the ‘IT’ girls in Hollywood for a while in the 80s, when she was younger. Now she’s been reduced to being a middle-aged has-been begging for work. She was on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and it was not pretty. Even she seemed uncomfortable as she fidgeted, swinging her legs as she put her acting skills to work trying to project confidence.
For instance, when Letterman asked if her age might be why she hasn’t been getting work she replied, ‘Come on. Look at me!’ That was painful to watch.
According to Young, her problems started when she infamously tried to snag the role of Catwoman in the Batman films by wearing a homemade catsuit to Warner Bros. Then there’s the reputation she had for being difficult (she says because she’s a woman and stood up for herself).
Okay, the Catwoman thing was nuts. Then there was the alcoholism and the intermittent appearances begging for acting jobs. And there’s the whole crazy talk stuff – like talking about using a horsewhip to discipline her teenaged sons. But she didn’t act nearly as crazy so publicly for nearly as long as Charlie Sheen did and he’s still around in one form or the other.
