Former NBA guard, Rex Chapman, who played for 12 seasons as a professional basketball player, including with the Phoenix Suns, has been arrested for theft. He reportedly stole $14,000 for an Apple Store by pretending to use the self-checkout lane, shoplifting the merchandise, then selling the stolen items for cash. The 46 year old is now facing a total of 14 criminal charges of theft or selling stolen property. In 2013, Chapman appeared to be backing out of a deal to become head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, which picked Byron Scott instead. It appeared that Chapman may have since hit hard financial times as a result of his decision, where theft then became an option for him.
