Here’s an incredible achievement. Hollywood screenwriter and producer, Shonda Rhimes, 44, will become the first person, and the first African American woman to produce and help to write the screenplays for all three prime time shows on ABC on Thursday nights this Fall. Her three programs, GREYS ANATOMY, SCANDAL and the brand new, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, mark an record of incredible achievement for any single TV producer or screenwriter to awarded an entire high ratings evening to show off their best efforts.
Shonda Rhimes has proven huge ratings for the network, being a valuable asset for the ABC network. The network was more than happy to add a third production to their schedule from Rhimes.
Thursday night is like the weekly superbowl of ratings, where the networks put up their best efforts to compete with ratings leader CBS. NBC finally has thrown in the towel with low rated comedy entries and will end it’s Thursday night comedy block which has lasted as a dynasty for many years this Fall, while ABC also will go all drama as well on that night with the three Shonda Rhimes offerings.
