The great actor Peter O’Toole has died. The 81 year old actor had an extensive career of both stage and film acting, earning his first Oscar nomination in 1962 for the epic film LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. The film took nearly 18 months to film, which is one of the longest production schedules of all time, but the film was acclaimed as one of the greatest films of all time. The original film was 216 minutes long, however in 1989 a restored version that is 228 minutes long was released. The 1960 film, KIDNAPPED was the first film by the actor, but he had many standout films in his career including BECKET(1964), LORD JIM(1965), WHAT’S NEW PUSSYCAT?(1965), THE SANDPIPER(1965), CASINO ROYALE(1967), THE LION IN WINTER(1968), GOODBYE MR. CHIPS(1969), MURPHY’S WAR(1971), THE RULING CLASS(1972), CALIGULA(1079), MY FAVORITE YEAR(1982). The actors career finally ended with the unreleased film, KATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA in 2013, marking the end to one of the longest acting careers from one of the greatest actors of all time.
