Katie Gee, the more seriously injured of the two 18 year old volunteer orphanage workers who were injured in a acid attack, had just met with former President Bill Clinton and actress Dakota Fanning before the attack. Bill Clinton and Dakota Fanning were in Zanzibar offering praise to volunteer workers in the African resort state who were helping with malaria relief and other good works. Katie Gee and Kristie Trup had volunteered part of their Summer to help teach orphans, but instead found themselves the victims of horrible sectarian violence when two Muslim extremists on a moped rode up to them nodded to each other, and the passenger smiled at the girls as he threw battery acid on the girls leaving both girls with severe acid burns. Kristy Gee suffered the more serious injuries of the two with burns to 50% of her torso and 80% of her right arm as well as to her face, hands and legs. She remains in a UK hospital burns unit under pain management medication awaiting surgery. The other girl, Kristie Trup will return from her home for skin graft surgery on Thursday in an attempt to repair some her serious injuries.
