Actor James Gandofini who played Tony Soprano in the very popular HBO cable mobster series, THE SOPRANOS, has died from an apparent sudden massive heart attack in Italy. He was only 51. The actor was in Sicily for a film festival at the time when he suffered the sudden death. The actor had won three Emmy Awards for THE SOPRANOS which aired for six critically acclaimed seasons. Gandofini seemed like the perfect actor to play a mobster, straight from central casting, although his role may have seemed like a bad stereotype to some others. Despite his role as a mobster, TV GUIDE rated the actor as the 28th most sexy star in 2005, because so many women found the actor so appealing. An upcoming 2014 crime film, ANIIMAL RESCUE, starring Gandofini was his last scheduled film. Since 1987, the actor had built up an impressive resume of film work as well as some TV work.
