Unfortunately, you just don’t see too many of those outrageous little AMC Gremlins these days. But, I was always a fan of the small chopped-off body cars based off the AMC Hornet. About 5% of these 1970’s cars were equipped with a V8 engine like this one I owned, which featured a raised intake manifold, race Holley carb, duel Cherry Bomb mufflers and custom suspension system.
It was a shame to see these little cars disappear from the streets as they aged. But, some made their way into a second life as customs, race cars or into a collection of cars by the fans who loved these strangely overpowered little cars that were one of the fastest subcompacts ever built.
