McDonald’s Eliminating Angus Third Pounder Line

Although they’re great tasting and perfectly good burgers in every way, McDonald’s has decided to drop their line of the higher priced third pound Angus burgers that sell for an average of $4.49 each in favor of their cheaper Quarter Pounders. McDonald’s experienced a marginal sales decline last year but sales are up just slightly this past April as the popular fast food company seeks to tweak it’s product line to improve it’s market share.

Certainly, those Angus burgers were higher priced than most of McDonald’s food, but there are many meat lovers who love Angus beef, which has a public perception of being higher quality, although no real proof exists to support that view. But, the favorable public perception of Angus certainly works in favor of that brand of beef.
