GIRLS GONE WILD Files For Chapter 11

Who could have ever expected that any business based off showing off great sets of boobs would have money troubles? You’d think that those milkers would be pure gold in the bank, but no I say. GIRLS GONE WILD is now filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as it seeks to financially reorganize to pay off it’s debts and hopes to emerge as another chapter 11 success story like General Motors.

It’s only the latest sign of trouble at the Joe Francis business, which has certainly become the most troubled soft porn business in the history of soft porn. Your average porn business just never had half the problems that Joe Francis, his Mantra Productions or GIRLS GONE WILD has ever had.

You can just bet that Francis will keep on trying to keep his company alive. But, with so many legal problems over the years, you just know that one day those girls will be lifting up their shirt for the very last time, and those lovely soft and bouncy girl parts will be put away for good.

The Atlanta-born Joe Francis first worked in production for REAL TV, but later decided that marketing accident or violent footage that was just too graphic for TV could make him a very wealthy man. Suddenly, this Einstein of huckstering outrageous videos was so impressed with some film footage with women flashing their breasts during Mardi Gras and also Spring break from college, that he just wanted to market a new line of films with young women flashing their boobs for a GIRLS GONE WILD t-shirt and a little pay in exchange for signing a model release form.

Francis actually had a compassionate side, and in 2005 donated 100% of the MARDI GRAS revenues that year to Katrina relief managed by the Red Cross. But, his own personal kindness didn’t keep him out of the courtroom. He faced lawsuits in 2007, 2008 and 2012. Even worse, he served jail time of 339 days and paid out over $2.1 million in fines and restitution when the company was forced to plead guilty to violating federal record keeping #2257 regulations after one Florida city government attempted to stop Mantra from filming work, and sloppy record keeping and model release forms led Francis and the company into serious legal problems. And Francis has had tax problems as well. Francis and his company are easily the most troubled soft core porn brand ever. PLAYBOY or even HUSTLER just never had as much problems. And now, the new news of the company bankruptcy is only a further sign of trouble at the GIRLS GONE WILD brand.

GIRLS GONE WILD intends to remain open for business. And Francis would like to keep on profiting off of boobs. But, what was supposed to be a carefree lifestyle of big money, jets and boobs has taken another unfortunate turn for this often mismanaged soft porn company.
