Sage Moonblood Stallone, Sylvester Stallone’s 36-year-old son, has died in Los Angeles today of an apparent suicide.
“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son,” publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. “His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha.”
Sage Stallone was found dead at his home on Mulholland Terrance in in Los Angeles early this afternoon. It is reported that a housekeeper found his body and called the police who are in the early stages of an investigation into his death.
Sage Stallone is Sylvester Stallone’s oldest child. He was the oldest of two sons born from Stallone’s first marriage to Sasha Czack. He appeared with his father is two movies, ‘Rocky V’ in 1990 an ‘Daylight’ in 1996. He founded Grindhouse Releasing in 1996 with film editor Bob Murawski to preserve B-movies from the 1970s and 1980s.
Attorney George Braunstein who has represented Sage Stallone for years says that he believes the death must have been from an accident because Stallone was ‘upbeat’, successful in his own right and planning to be married soon.
The investigation into his death is in early and reports that he died of a prescription overdose or suicide are reportedly premature. Braunstein says it could have been a heart attack or stroke.
Whatever the cause of death, it is a devastating lose to his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his parents, Sylvester Stallone and Sasha Czack as well as his siblings and others who loved him.
