After negotiations broke down over the renewal of A&E’s popular DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER series, A&E called a halt to talks and promptly canceled the popular and long running reality series. The series followed the exploits of former criminal Duane “Dog” Chapman who had turned his life around years ago, devoting his life to catching criminals working as a bounty hunter. However, many recent episodes seemed to focus on family attempts to reconcile their differences. In addition, Chapman and his wife Beth have recently been the victim of some death threats, perhaps as a result of some criminal they had arrested. These threats are under FBI investigation as a result.
Perhaps it was too much family drama in the last few years, along with too much of a demand for money. Regardless, A&E decided to put this dog down, making it another show with reasonable ratings that’s been canceled. The show ran eight seasons.
