The poster for Angelina Jolie’s writing and directing debut film, ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ has been released. She’s doesn’t seem to be trying to capitalize on her name or face recognition in the film. She barely mentions herself. She has really gone all out on this intense drama of a romance against the backdrop of the Bosnian-Serbian War of the early 1990s.
The poster features a blood splatter in the shape of a man and woman leaning in to kiss.
Angelia Jolie took a lot of risks with this movie, including incurring some controversy due to her choice of filming locations. She has also opted for local actors instead of big-name Hollywood stars and she hasn’t skimped on the intense elements of the Serbs’ attempts at ethnic cleansing. The story centers around the relationship between a Serbian rape camp administrator and a Bosnian-Muslim woman who is his lover, rape victim and one of his prisoners. Yeah. Intense.
