Evangeline Lilly talks child-birth with Jay Leno.
Lost actress Evangeline Lilly was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night and gave a detailed account of her experience with natural child-birth. Apparently, she and her partner, Norman Kali, decided to have the baby at home, outside, in a thunderstorm. Son Kahekili was born after 30-hours of labor (with 8-hours of pushing).
“We decided to have the baby at home because we wanted it to be a natural birth, and it turns out that it was 30 hours of natural,” the Real Steel actress told Jay Leno about the May birth of her son, Kahekili.
Those grueling 30 hours included eight hours of pushing, but Lilly says her midwife stepped in to help with “a few suggestions” – after she’d already been pushing for five hours.
“And I was like, ‘Really?’ After five hours of pushing you have a few suggestions? You couldn’t have told me five minutes in?'”
Evangeline Lilly, 32-years-old, has stayed in Hawaii with Kali since the end of her series Lost. She is now starring opposite Huge Jackman in Real Steel. By the way, Jackman says she’s a great kisser. She is also filming The Hobbit in New Zealand. She has a story about breast-feeding her little 5-month-old Kahekili in her trailer on the set of The Hobbit while in costume. She says he screamed, looking at her pointed ears as though he couldn’t believe this strange creature was trying to feed him.
