This month’s French Vogue featured some pretty sexy photos of a 10-yer-old model, Thylane Loubry Blondeau. Her appearance in the magazine, in stiletto heels, heavy make-up, provocative poses and sexy pout resulted in people asking, how much is too much sex appeal for a child and is the fashion industry exploiting children to sell magazines. It might be noted that the controversy surrounding the photos certainly didn’t hurt French Vogue’s sales for the month. I mean, you can’t buy that kind of advertising!
Thylane’s mother, actress and TV presenter Veronika Loubry shut down the Blondeau Facebook page in reaction to the controversy saying she wants to protect Thylane from knowing what people are saying about her pictures. Her father is French international football player Patrick Blondeau.
Hey guys im the mum of thylane. Something’s going wrong at the moment with thylane and bad personn in usa about pictures she made 8 months ago for Vogue. Thylane doesn’t know about the buzz and I want to protect her from the deepest of my heart. She’s so young, so we are going to close this account for a while. I know all of you are good person who like her so I send you a big kiss. thanks
Sounds like according to Veronika Loubry its the bad persons in the USA who are causing the problem and not the photos themselves. She wants to protect her daughter from the buzz about the pictures, but not from being dressed up like a sexy adult woman and having her pictures exploited by fashion magazines. Well. Okay. To each their own when it comes to parenting.
What do you think? Is a child too young to pose like this or is all the press about it much ado about nothing?
