Casey Anthony was sentenced to four years in jail for
the murder of her daughter lying to police. One year for each of the counts. Judge Belvin Perry gave her the maximum sentence. See the video below.
Judge Belvin Perry threw the book at Casey Anthony. He gave her the maximum sentence he could after she was convicted of lying to police. Four years in jail and a $4,000 fine with credit for time served. They are figuring out how much credit for timed served she gets now. She may be released from prison as early as this month.
Casey Anthony was famously acquitted on charges that she murdered her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. The jury did convict her of four counts of lying to police though.
Anthony didn’t look too upset that she got the maximum sentence. She didn’t even look upset that she wasn’t released from jail today as a lot of people had speculated she would be. She was grinning from ear to ear – no doubt still on a high that she lucked out with a ‘not-guilty’ verdict for murder.
