Curb Your Enthusiasm creator and star, Larry David, has decided to give his all to an eighth season “after much soul searching, and by the way it was nowhere to be found.”
It was a smart move by Larry David, co-creator of the smash hit Seinfeld, to come back for a new season. Curb Your Enthusiasm is HBO’s longest running scripted drama, and that’s further testament to David’s overall impact—and contribution—to television. In short, television’s just better when Larry David is involved.
The quirky writing style we absolutely loved on Seinfeld, we discovered, was the real deal, by which we mead the real Larry David. He’s a comic genius with a firm grasp on what is really meant by “less is more.” His understated presence—in person or on paper—is truly brilliant, and continues to manifest itself in some of the funniest moments on television.
His brand of humor catches people off their guard because it’s so genuine. We believed Jerry Seinfeld the actor really was Jerry Seinfeld the person because the humor was neither contrived nor forced. It was the natural by-product of real life.
Larry David once said, “I just feed off the energy of the audience.” This is great news for fans of the show, as David and co-stars Cheryl Hines and Jeff Garlin will film 10 new episodes this summer. The new episodes will air next year, which means fans have plenty of time to watch previous seasons to get caught up on one of the most genuine and funny programs on television.
