Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tides actress Penelope Cruz thinks wrinkles are great. In fact, she says she wants to slap women who worry about getting old! See photos of the Spanish actress below.
I guess its easy for a beautiful 37-year-old actress to talk about how great it is to be who you are and not worry about getting older and getting wrinkles. That’s what Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tides actress Penelope Cruz says. In fact, she says she can’t wait for wrinkles.
Yeah. Let’s see what she says when she is actually getting wrinkles and isn’t the beautiful hot babe that every man wants that she is now.
“When I hear a woman who is in her early 30s is worrying about growing old, I just want to slap her.
“When I’m 80, I want to look in the mirror and see an 80-year-old woman. My grandmother had so many wrinkles and every wrinkle told a story. I want to experience every year of my life for what it is. It doesn’t mean I am against somebody who does a little retouch or [has] plastic surgery. I don’t judge people who do it. I just don’t like how women complain about growing old.”
Penelope Cruz recently gave birth to her first child with husband Javier Bardem in January. She is still at an age where wrinkles and losing her appeal to men is not an issue so its easy for her to say. We’ll see if she has a Melanie Griffith syndrome and Meg Ryan syndrome as she reaches her 60s and 70s. I hope she is true to herself and allows herself to be who she is at whatever age she is. But we’ll see.
Frankly, I think she’s right. Women who allow themselves to grow older with grace (think Helen Mirren) are much more attractive as they grow older than women who can’t move their faces, whose eyes slant upwards and who no longer even remotely resemble the women they once were.
Maybe Penelope Cruz will be one of those women who remains beautiful even in old age as opposed to one of those Hollywood women who continuously try to continue to look 20 when they are 60 and no longer look like real people but more like mannequins without facial expressions, individuality or the person they once were.
