Rumors have been circling for a week since Pia Toscano was sent home from American Idol that she has signed a recording contract with Interscope Records. Fans were very surprised by her unexpected elimination from the show last Thursday.
US Weekly reported that the singer had signed a contract and Jimmy Iovine and Interscope Records were rushing her to the studio ASAP to record an album so it could debut before the end of this season’s American Idol. The paperwork was being finalized but the deal had been agreed upon.
Toscano revealed this week that she has not signed a contract with anyone as of yet. She said that she has been busy since being eliminated and will be concentrating on getting ready for the upcoming American Idol Tour this summer. Pia says she has been way too busy since the shows elimination last week to even think about signing anywhere. She claims to be excited to see what the future brings for her, but really wants to focus on the upcoming tour.
Pia has been touted as being one of the most talented singers this season, and the judges and fans were very shocked to see the 22-year-old sent home. There have even been fan petitions going around to have her brought back to the show for another chance.
With all the hype over her possibly signing a record deal, fans are sure to support her when the tour is over this summer and she is able to focus on what will come next.
