Top Celebrity Couple Earnings List Has Some Surprises

If there’s one thing we like, it’s a list of who makes the most money on the planet. Turn that list into one about the incomes of celebrity couples, and we’re pretty much talking A-list here.

Forbes Magazine never saw a list they wouldn’t print, particularly if it has to do with who earns how much money. Their latest, a list of celebrity couples and who earns more, caught my attention. I was surprised by a couple of their entries.

Did Beyonce or Jay-Z make the most? They made so much money that it almost doesn’t matter. Beyonce made a whopping $87 million from combined sources, including touring, endorsements, and her clothing line. Jay-Z, former CEO of Def Jam Recordings, managed $63 million from his newest album, Blueprint III and the tour supporting it, investments in the 40/40 Club, the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association, and Fela!, a successful Broadway show.

Jay Z and Beyonce

Who earns more, Major League Baseball star Alex Rodriguez or Cameron Diaz? This one is a photo finish, with A-Rod edging out Diaz by a mere $1 million. The New York Yankees paid their 3rd baseman $33 million last year, while Diaz and her agent were able to secure her $32 million in acting gigs, most notably Shrek Forever After and Knight and Day. Combined, both films gross more than $1 billion worldwide.

How about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt? Think you have a handle on who makes the most in this hunky celebrity marriage? Here’s a hint: The top earner made $20 million. In fact, so did the bottom earner. That’s right! Both Jolie and Pitt each made $20 million last year. Jolie starred in the megahits, Salt and The Tourist with co-star Johnny Depp.

Brad and Angelina

I have to admit, I’m surprised Angelina and Brad didn’t make more than they did. But I guess they have been spending more time on charity work than raking in the cash.

There ya have it. Piles of A-list cash, and chances are these same celebrity couples will top next year’s list as well!
