Rapper Nate Dogg was laid to rest Saturday and thousands came out to say goodbye.
Thousands of friends, family members, and fans attended the Long Beach funeral of Nate Dogg (real name: Nathaniel Hale) today as he was laid to rest after dying from congestive heart failure on March 15. Famous celebrities in attendance included Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and the Game. Fans that were lucky enough to get tickets issued through a phone-request system were able to attend and say goodbye to the hip hop artist who has collaborated with the likes of Dr. Dre and Eminem, to name just a few. The service was held at the Queen Mary Dome.
Friend Snoop Dogg got a tattoo to remember his lost friend. He posted the photo along with the tweet “Tha tattoo u been waitin 2 c. My bro Nate Dogg by @Misterctoons.”
Snoop also used his twitter account to share his feelings about Nate Dogg’s death. “We lost a true legend in hip hop and R&B. One of my best friends and a brother to me since 1986, when I was a sophomore…I love u buddy luv. U will always be with me forever and a day. You put the ‘G’ in G funk. You put the ‘1’ n 213. And you put yo stamp on everybody you ever did it with.”
Nate Dogg, who suffered from strokes in both 2007 and 2008, will live on though his numerous musical contributions (as well as through Snoop’s new arm ink).
