Warner Bros. has announced that British actor Henry Cavill is Superman in the new film that is scheduled for 2012. Read more about it and see the photos of the hunky British star below.
Henry Cavill is not only beautiful, he’s brave. It takes some guts to be willing to take on the role of Superman considering the history of actors who have been Superman over the years. But that aside, Warner Brothers has announced that the 27-year-old gorgeous British actor will be Superman in the next movie of the franchise that is scheduled to hit theaters in 2012.
Currently Cavill is appearing as Charles Brandon, Henry VIII’s best friend and adviser on Showtimes The Tudors. He is also starring in Immortals that will be coming out in November 2011.
Henry Cavill has been dubbed the unluckiest man in Hollywood by Empire Magazine after missing out on several high-profile roles including Batman and James Bond. It seems his luck is turning around with the Superman role. Although he’s been relatively unknown in the United States until now, I suspect that will soon change with his role on The Tudors and now Superman.
The new Superman movie is not yet named, but is scheduled to come out during the Christmas season 2012 and is to be directed by Zack Snyder who directed 300. The new Lois Lane hasn’t yet been cast.
