Howard Stern signs new deal with Sirius XM

Thursday morning, Howard Stern announced that he had signed a 5-year deal with Sirius XM.  That ends the speculation that Stern might be headed toward other endeavors.   The news apparently helped the Sirius XM stock which went up 20% in the morning trading.

Stern has been with Sirius XM since 2006.  His show airs four days each week, and the word is that he may now cut that to only three days a week.

    Howard Stern is always a little hard for me to figure. He doesn’t play music or offer really insightful or intelligent news analysis. The show often seems like little more than small-time coffee talk that belongs on some cutting room floor. But, a few interviews are pretty good. Yet people listen, and the huge contracts come his way. There’s no justice in life.
