Here’s an idea for a new reality TV show. How about a reality TV show that has brides battling it out on television for plastic surgery to make their wedding day just perfect!!! That sounds like a really bad dream, doesn’t it? No! Its reality and its premiered on E!. I’m. Not. Kidding. You can see videos about it below.
A new reality TV show premiered on E! Sunday night, November 28, 2010. Twelve women are living under one roof and competing to get the plastic surgery of their choice before their wedding day.
This has to be one of the worst ideas for a reality TV show EVAH. The brides-to-be battle it out from week to week until only one bride is left standing and gets to have her very own plastic surgery to make her wedding day just perfect.
Or is it to make themselves just perfect? Whatever happened to being comfortable in your own skin. Unless, of course, you have aspirations of having a hockey mask face and looking nothing like your former self like, oh, say Donatella Versace.
Any number of other celebrities come to mind. Melanie Griffith, Michael Jackson, Meg Ryan, Kenny Rodgers. The list is pretty much endless. So many Hollywood stars have changed their looks that it must look normal out there when in reality it looks bizarre to most people.
Anyway. Here’s the catch with Bridalplasty. The grooms don’t see their spouses-to-be with their new looks until they get to the alter.
The dramatic finale marks the end of her quest for perfection and reveals if her dream wedding does in fact become a reality.
Are you freakin’ kidding me? I can already tell you these marriages are doomed. The quest for perfection ends the minute he or she wakes up with bed-head.
Anyone who needs cosmetic surgery to have ‘the perfect’ wedding day doesn’t have the self-esteem to have a healthy relationship and marriage. That person will constantly need another man or woman to reassure them that they are still attractive and sexually appealing. So you can pretty much predict there will be complications in the relationship and a constant reassurance that they are absolutely wonderful in every way. That is until they can no longer muster a facial expression and their mouths are so puffed up they look like some alien being (certainly not human).
And what if the groom doesn’t like the new her?
Argh! My brain is exploding!
