Prince Charles gave an interview with Brian Williams that will air tonight in a special ‘The Man Who Will Be King’. He talks about environmental issues, what its like to have his son Prince Harry in the war zone of Afghanistan, whether or not Camille will be Queen of England one day and the upcoming marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton. You can see the interview below.
Prince Charles met with Brian Williams for a rare interview at his grandmother’s former home, Castle of Mey in the northern-most part of Scotland.
The future King of England’s advice to his son on his upcoming wedding? ‘Don’t take the advice of the media, is my advice’.
Brian Williams asked, ‘How could he possibly’.
The Prince of Wales responded, ‘I know. It is very intrusive, indeed, and very difficult. I feel for him deeply because in my day it was definitely not.’
When he was asked if his wife, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, would be Queen of England when Charles ascends the Throne of England. After stumbling over how to answer that, he finally replied, ‘We’ll see won’t we? That could be.’
Of course that’s a touchy issue and Clarence House put out a statement that her title will be Princess Consort as opposed to Queen Consort as was agreed to when they married 5-years ago.
As an American I could care less whether she’s Queen or Princess Consort. But apparently those titles are important in Britain.
