Britney Spears' Performances Might Spur New Lip-Sync Legislation

A new tour by pop princess Britney Spears is causing quite a stir in Australia. Some lawmakers are very upset of the fact that the singer is lip-syncing her way through shows that cost up to $1,500 a seat. For some lawmakers, this is now a major consumer issue. New legislation would force concerts to clearly state on the tickets and elsewhere that the concert is a lip-sync performance and not really performed with live singing.

Britney Spears new concert tour might be called "Circus". However, the lip-syncing issue is creating it's own legal fireworks show with some unhappy fans and legislators even before Spears Circus roadshow opens to 15 sold-out performances.

Sources close to the pop princess defend her use of lip-sync claiming that she can't really sing and dance at the same time. There might be a few others who wonder whether she can chew gum and walk at the same time given her past silly antics. But so far this year, Spears has cleaned up her act and appears to be far more businesslike.

What can you say, all of Britney's world is a "Circus".
