According to Variety, Steven Spielberg has committed to directing a remake of 50s classic "Harvey". And according to Nikki Fenke, Tom Hanks - though no offer has been made yet - is the firm fave to play the Bunny-befriending lead character.

  • The fabulous "Mad Men" returns to AMC with season 3 on Sunday, August 16th. This isn't new news but I am pointing it out now so if you haven't jumped on you can still watch the first two seasons before game time.

  • Jennifer Aniston has been cast in director Michael Sucsy's "Goree Girls", the true story of an all-female country band in a Texas prison in the 1940s. The story is about the eight women who formed one of the first all-girl C&W acts in the country, became a public favorite and were eventually pardoned.

  • Josh Duhamel is in talks to star opposite Katherine Heigl in romancer "Life as We Know It" for Warner Bros and director Greg Berlanti. Story follows two adults whose worlds are turned upside down when their mutual best friends die and name them as caregivers of their orphaned daughter.

  • Hugh Jackman has agreed to play legendary American showman P.T. Barnum in "The Greatest Showman on Earth," Jenny Bicks ("Sex and the City") original contemporary musical for Fox. Fox studio is in talks with British singer-songwriter Mika to write music and lyrics.

  • Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is developing a Gothic reimagining of "Little Red Riding Hood" with screenwriter David Leslie Johnson. Although the project has been developed internally at Appian Way it is not a possible acting vehicle for DiCaprio.
