New York University graduate student Adam Harvey recently invented a smart alternative for camera-shy celebrities that won't tarnish their public image or end in an assault charge. His "anti-paparazzi device," which is built into a clutch purse, uses a photo cell that picks up a photographer's flash and communicates with a circuitboard, which then fires LED lights that flash back at paparazzi, ruining their photos.
The effect is immediate and even kind of cool looking. Perhaps a flash in the face of a pap who's tailing you in their car can cause them to drive into the opposing lane.
I would really love to see this in use. Not that I don't love my celeb pics, but those paps are scum a lot of the time and I just want them to get their comeuppance whether its at a time that they deserve it or not.

I couldn't agree more, Tracey. Paps are a menace, and wholly unconcerned with the safety of both the celebs they prey on and the public who are caught up in their "activities". I think of the dozens of flashing photogs surrounding her car. It was an assault!
