Surprisingly, the body of Michael Jackson will be protected by the LAPD SWAT team on it's journey from Forest Lawn to the Staples Center. And a police helicopter will fly overhead as well for added security. The protection the body will probably be as great or greater than that of a presidential appearance. A planned private memorial for around 100 persons, mostly relatives of Michael Jackson will be held before the body is transported to Staples Center for the huge public memorial event. Many television networks will present coverage of this memorial which will likely rival the memorial for Princess Diana.
You have to admit that's it's one heck of a great country where some poor African American boy can be born and can make lots of money doing a Zombie dance video, and buy enough plastic surgery to die looking like a rich White woman, and get a funeral suitable for a head of state.

Paul,
After having just made my first visit to Arlington Nat'l Cemetery less than a week ago, today's spectacle sickens me how FUBAR our priorities are as a nation when it comes to who we reverently honor.

Maybe some day those who judged Michael Jackson harshly, based on media lies and coercion, will forgive the many that loved him, and understood his message of and peace.

A grown man does not sleep in the same bed with other peoples kids. Hate to bust your airless bubble, but the guy was a pervert.

The House held a moment of silence after the death of Michael Jackson. I'd say they are long overdue on 4,317 other moments of silence that should have had priority.

Hate and ignorance is where you are coming from, GarandFan, so I won't feed it any more.
Chad, moments of silence can be just as shallow as an explosive commentary.

So you're saying that a guy that sold records for his own profit is more important than the guys and gals that put their lives on the line for the cause of liberty? Don't get me wrong, Michael Jackson did some good things, but he also did them for money. The people we send into battle to protect us get less than they deserve, and little to no recognition at home. Don't they deserve to be recognized by the people that sent them to war?

Hooson, you HAD to go there with that particular picture, didn't you?
I had my doubts about your ability to fit in over here... that photo showed a crassness, a classlessness, and a deep, profound understanding of snark that is ESSENTIAL in cases like this.
I doff my hat to you, sir. I winced and smiled at the sight. Well, well done.

No, Chad. You said that. Is Michael selling his records and memorabilia now? I don't expect you to understand that millions of people loved Michael Jackson and mourned his passing. I also don't expect you to get that people aren't thinking, "I think I will dishonor the men and women that served and gave their lives by mourning Michael Jackson".

Chad, also just because you don't see a live broadcast doesn't mean they aren't honored.

I heard that, in Michael Jackson's honor, NAMBLA ordered their flags flown at half staff.
Along with their pants.

I heard that Jay Tea missed writing at Wizbang so much, he submitted not just lame joke material and captions, but he offered financial reward for acquiring a better shtick via ghostwriter. While we're kidding around here...
There's an interesting thing said about repeating the same sexual insinuations. Some say it's indicative of suppressed tendencies of the one doing the ridiculing.
Aside from that, Jay Tea, nice to see you and youre joke was pretty lame.
