Dimension Films has acquired the remake rights to "An American Werewolf in London", John Landis' 1981 horror-comedy. Landis spoke to bloodydisgusting.com and said "Yes, Dimension is now in negotiation for the 'An American Werewolf in London' remake rights. Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it."
- Michael Ausiello Tweets: ABC confirms that Lost's 16th season will be 18 hours long, including two-hour premiere and two-hour finale.
- Ryan Reynolds will star in "Buried," playing a civilian contractor who's kidnapped in Iraq and awakens buried in a coffin in the desert, armed only with a cell phone, a candle and a knife. Rodrigo Cortes will direct.
- Spoilertv.com reports that Drea de Matteo is joining the cast of "Desperate Housewives". De Matteo, who will be a series regular, will play the matriarch of a new Italian family.
- After months of tense negotiations, "Law & Order: SVU" headliners Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay have inked new deals to remain on the beat for not one but two more years.
- ComingSoon.net reports Columbia Pictures' CG/live-action hybrid film based on "The Smurfs" will hit theaters in 3D. Smurfs 3D is scheduled for a December 17, 2010 release.
- Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Hutcherson and Mia Wasikowska are set to star in "The Kids Are All Right". The movie revolves around a brother and sister who set out to find their same-sex parents' sperm donor, who totally upsets their family dynamic once he enters their lives. Bening and Moore play the parents, and Ruffalo plays the donor.
