Grammy winner Natalie Cole underwent kidney transplant surgery in L.A. on Tuesday and is now "resting comfortably," according to People.com.
Cole, 59, has struggled with kidney problems while undergoing treatment for hepatitis C, which she was diagnosed with a year ago.
"The kidney came from a deceased organ donor through the regional organ procurement agency, One Legacy," her rep said in a statement. In February, Cole was hopeful that her son Robert might be a possible donor match.
Cole, who has undergone kidney dialysis three times a week since September, is expected to spend the next three to four months recuperating. She plans to reschedule her summer tour dates in support of her album Still Unforgettable.

Wow, mine too. That's awesome she was able to get a donor, now maybe she can get back to living a normal life.
