- Director Roland Emmerich wont be releaseing "2012" till Thanksgiving 2009. The movie centers on Mayan prophecies of apocalypse. Its cast includes John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover and Thandie Newton.
- "Iron Maiden: Flight 666," the first feature documentary on the British heavy metal band, will receive a spring release on home turf via European digital cinema provider Arts Alliance Media.
- "Jericho" Fans Unite! Executive producer Jon Turtletaub ("National Treasure") has confirmed that he is developing a feature-film version of the short-lived Skeet Ulrich-starring series. Turteltaub said, "It would not require you to have seen the TV show."
- After months of negotiations, "Mad Men" creator and exec producer Matthew Weiner has cut a two-year deal with Lionsgate TV that will keep him at the helm of his Emmy-winning AMC drama.
- Terry Gilliam is back at work on "The Man who Killed Don Quixote", the flick - starring Johnny Depp - collapsed under it's own weight back in 2000. The filmmaker says "the film will be better seven years later. It will have matured a bit longer."
- John Cleese is telling some that "A Fish Called Wanda" is close to becoming a stage musical adaptation. "We've knocked the story into shape," said Cleese. "We're going to try a few lyrics and if it turns out we are no good we'll get a new lyricist in. Right now we're working on the story and trying to figure out where the songs should go. It's very early days, though."

Only problem is the sun isn't cooperating, Pluto. Solar Cycle 24 is very late in starting - leading a lot of folks to think it's going to be a minimal cycle at best.
