Alleged Cusack Stalker Goes to Trial

cusack517.jpg

You may not think you care about someone stalker John Cusack, but you're wrong. It's always been one of my favorite stalking stories. Bizarre enough to contend with Lettermans house raider and the chick who broke into Pitt's place and put his sweat shirt on and took a nap.

Emily Leatherman frequently went to offices of people who knew Cusack, looking for him, but that got her no where. She had mail addressed to her sent to his Malibu home but he didn't seem to get the hint that that's where she belongs. So she began writing him love letters. Attaching them to bags she filled with screwdrivers and rocks, and throwing them over the wall of his home. Repeatedly. Screwdrivers. Poetic? Yes. Creepy? Fuck yes.

Leatherman had originally wanted to act as her own attorney, but L.A.Superior Court Judge Susan M. Speer, while ruling that the defendant was fit to stand trial, would not allow it. Her trial begins tomorrow.
