- I am shocked to report that Bill Murray has agreed to the 3rd installment of Ghostbusters. Aykroyd, Ramis and Hudson I would have expected but... carry on.
- Denzel Washington will star in Warner Bros.' Book of Eli, a post-apocalyptic drama that will be directed by Allen and Albert Hughes. Washington will play a lone hero in a not-too-distant apocalyptic future who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption.
- Robert Downey Jr. will star in Guy Richies next project, a reinvention of Sherlock Holmes. Richie say the movie is 'amalgamation of a number of the Sherlock Holmes adventures'.
- Mark Millar ("Wanted" scribe) tells G4TV that he and a big-time director pal (name not revealed) has pitched a three-picture "Superman" series to Warner Bros - and if it gets the go-ahead, they'll be filming next Summer.
- Two weeks into shooting, Robert De Niro has abruptly dropped out of the conspiracy thriller Edge of Darkness--Mel Gibson's first starring role since 2002's Signs-- forcing producers to have to recast a pivotal part. De Niro's rep blames "creative differences," telling Variety "sometimes things don't work out." Martin Campbell's expected to shoot around De Niro's scenes until a sub can be called in.
