A plot to abduct, assault and kill two popular teenage singers set to take the stage Friday night at Riverbend has been broken up with one man's arrest.
Police in Lancaster, Ohio along with authorities in Los Angeles helped arrest 42-year-old Rex Mettler of Lancaster Friday.
Mettler is charged in connection with a plan to abduct, sexually assault and eventually kill Aly and AJ. They are a sister duo made popular by their affiliation with the Walt Disney Company.
Specifically, Mettler was to carry all this out before the Aly and AJ tour comes to the National City Pavilion at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati.
Investigators said Mettler somehow obtained the sisters' personal email addresses as well.
Mettler admitted to the plot, according to police. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Authorities took several pieces of potential evidence from Mettler's home on Thursday.
Riverbend officials said the concert will go on as scheduled.
