While watching the Emmy's last night I made note of a few quotes that I felt were worthy of sharing.
- On the red carpet, heading in to the ceremony, Eva Longoria noted "I think TV is at it's very best right now and I'm so proud to be a pioneer in it all." There's so much wrong with that statement you could create a whole new blog around it.
- Seacrest, who was a decent host, referred to Showtimes hit series 'Weeds' saying "Weed's has the best after parties." Then adding "Right, Paula?" Cute.
- Katherine Heigl won for Best Supporting Actress and began her speech with "I don't have a speech prepared. My own mother told me I didn't have a shot in hell of winning tonight."
- Conan O'Brien's writing team took home Outstanding Writing Team and began their speech with "I do have a speech b/c Katherine Heigls mother said we would win."
- And finally, Wayne Brady pitted Kanye West against Rainn Wilson in a contest about 'the lyrics of Kanye West.' After Kanye flubbed the last line of 'Stronger' Wayne responded "'That's how long I been on ya'... it's 'ya', not 'you'. You pick the wrong night to speak properly." After losing the staged competition Kanye added "I never win anything."
