
- Acclaimed indy director Gus Van Sant - gee he's been quiet of late - is returning to the forefront with "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test", based on the book of the same name. The book told the story of a cross-country road trip that "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" author Ken Kesey orchestrated with a group called the Merry Pranksters.
- Former "Dawson's Creek" star Joshua Jackson will lose the Caesar hairdo to play investigative reporter Irwin 'Fletch' Fletcher in Fletch Won", says IESB.net. The long-in-development film has also snagged the services of director Steve Pink ("Accepted").
- Paramount Pictures has acquired distribution rights to Strange Wilderness starring Steve Zahn, Allen Covert & Jonah Hill. The story follows the hosts (Zahn and Covert) of fictional wildlife TV show "Strange Wilderness," which is headed toward extinction because of bad ratings; they hatch a scheme to find the one animal that can save the show -- Bigfoot.
- Jesse Bradford has signed to star in "The Echo," a remake of the acclaimed Filipino thriller "Sigaw" being produced by Vertigo Entertainment. The story centers on a young ex-con who moves into an old apartment only to learn his neighbor is an abusive cop who savagely beats his wife and daughter. When the ex-con tries to intervene, he becomes trapped in a curse.
