Fox and Kidman to Destroy 'How to Marry a Millionaire'

How To Marry A Millionaire is one of my top 10 favorite films of all time and I'm sick over it. Mostly b/c it will be impossible to replace Lauren Bacall. No one today is cool enough.

The hollywood Reporter states: Nicole Kidman is going to the altar with 20th Century Fox for a remake of "How to Marry a Millionaire."

The actress will produce the project through her Fox-based Blossom Films shingle as a potential starring vehicle.

Sacha Gervasi, who wrote Steven Spielberg's "The Terminal," has been tapped to pen the screenplay, which will be a contemporary-set reinterpretation of the Marilyn Monroe classic. The original, a Technicolor comedy that was released by Fox in 1953, vaulted Monroe to stardom.

Are there NO original ideas out there in Hollywood, or are they just too chickenshit to try something that hasn't already been done to guarantee a minimum curiosity factor?

It would be interesting to have you guys go over all the TV Show, Movie, cartoon and Theater remakes and look at their 'success' analytically.
