I loved AbFab, but I wonder if you could sell it in this day and age (and country).
We've gotten pretty judgemental about alcohol (and drug abuse). Remember the old Dean Martin show? Dean allways had a glass in his hand, and slured a bit, and appeared a bit sloppy, but people thought this was charming. You just couldn't put that on the air today. People would be yelling for him to go to rehab.
Same with the old Pepe LaPew cartoon. It was a classic, but if I pitched the idea to make a cartoon about a date rapist skunk today, I'd be thrown out of the room.
I loved AbFab, but I just can't see how you translate getting drunk and throwing up into your panties into something the American audience will accept.

I got addicted to this show on our Beeb station here in the US. You either appreciate British humor or you don't. There's hardly any middle territory among people I've talked to about Brit TV. I think their original versions of programs that we Americans have stolen and mimiced are better too (The Office; What Not to Wear). I think the British are tons funnier that Americans ever thought about being. Sure, Ab Fab's off-color, crass, etc. That's why it's funny! I love and miss Patsy and Edina. Bring them back!
