If you haven't heard the amazing story about the New York man who threw himself on to the subway tracks in order to save convulsing commuter then I ask that you exit your rock and read up on it.
Even more impressive... ok... almost as impressive as his extraordinary act of courage was his acceptance speech for receiving the Bronze Medallion from the Mayor. In it his condemned the other commuters for doing nothing and finished by deflecting the heroism onto the men and women in Iraq.
With that said... Life saving has proved to be profitable too. So far he has been given/offered:
- Year's worth of free rides on New York's subway and buses.
- Donald Trump gave him a $10,000 check, along with two other checks from undisclosed donors.
- The Walt Disney Co. gave Autrey and his family a one-week fully paid trip to the Disney World theme park in Orlando, Fla, and tickets to the Broadway smash hit musical 'The Lion King.'
- The New York Film Academy, where Hollopeter studies, said it had given Autrey $5,000 and offered scholarships to his daughters.
- A television show apartment make-over.

I love this guy. On "Letterman" last night, he was really cool and down-played his courage. In an ego-infested, post-9/11 world, it's amazingly uplifting!
