Probably because ABC doesn't want to have to explain to advertisers why they've promoted this miniseries mainly through rightwing blogs (oh wait, like Wizbang!).

To: Charles Gibson
I watched Mr. Gibson interview the President and ask some very hard questions that made him wiggle. He appears to have taken it like a man and did his best to answer the criticism's leveled at him. It was an Political event for both Democrats and Republicans.
Mr. Gibson should note and take exception about the uproar surrounding the showing of "The Path to 9/11" as it appears to put former President Bill Clinton defending against some of the same complaints as those leveled against President Bush.It is also a Political event.
Mr. Gibson, Please present the news fairly and accurately and let the chips fall where they will.
Mr. Clinton and his administration deserves some of the blame for what has happened and how we got to where President Bush has taken us. Make sure everyone knows this to. That is also your job.
Terry
