Haley Joel Osment To Be Charged With DUI/Pot Possession (Wizbang Pop!)

TMZ has learned actor Haley Joel Osment, 18, will be charged Thursday with misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol. Osment will also be charged with driving with a .08 blood alcohol level or higher, with an enhancement of driving with a .15 or higher. And Osment will be charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana while driving. He will also be charged with the infraction of driving under the age of 21 with a blood alcohol level of .05 or higher.

The case will be filed Thursday afternoon by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Osment, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "The Sixth Sense" at age 11, lost control of his 1995 Saturn on his way home collided with a brick pillar in a suburb around 1 a.m. on July 20. No bystanders were injured in the wreck, but Osment wasn't so lucky: the actor was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a broken rib and a shoulder injury.

The collision caused the vehicle to flip over onto its roof and come to rest a short distance from the initial impact. The actor was reportedly alert and talkative following the accident, and was alone at the time of the crash.

Which would you rather wreck driving drunk a 1995 Saturn which cost about $3000 to replace or a $100,000+ Sports car? This kid may be stupid for driving drunk, but atleast he wasnt going 150mph in a Porche.
He is young, and he didnt hurt anyone, hopefully he will take this experience to heart and he will learn from this mistake

whatever, he's a man now. i think it's just plain stupid that a mailbox tipped his car. lame. he probably did some hellishly reckless stuff and flipped it. but don't blame the mailbox.

yo! he was not trying to have fun, crashing a car and breaking your ribs and shoulder is not fun, jesus its was an accident, something that happens to lots of teens, movie actor or not its not a fucking big deal, so lay off him and let him get on with his life! im a fan of him and im not letting some stupid accident ruin that, hes still haley. it was dumb and he'll learn from it. and screw the people who said awesome to pot....you're saying yay to your own death. but drinking is awesome don't get me wrong there...
