Having not see Kevin Smith's new film Clerks II, I have no opinion as to its merits, but I was fascinated by the Monday night commercials for the movie during The Late Show with David Letterman. The ads proclaimed that "the critics agree" on Clerks II. Several minutes of play/pause with the TiVo revealed who this multitude of critics are. Here they are from the commercial:

Tender

Call me crazy, but that's not exactly an A-list of movie critics - that's fanzine material, which probably portends horrid reviews in the weekend section of you local newspaper. For a sequel to a cult classic, bad reviews may not matter, but the reporters already know Smith will be reading, and possibly commenting.
Update: Scott Foundas in The OC Weekly finds out what happens when Smith's obsessive reading of reviews and the pre-release publicity for Clerks II collide.
