jofr.jpg

From Frank Black:

Joey Santiago, guitarist with influential indie outfit The Pixies, has joined EliasArts as a featured artist and will work exclusively in the realm of television commercials.

EliasArts is a New York-based advertising agency, with a string of high-profile clients such as Nike, Adidas, Audi, eBay, Mastercard and Coca Cola.

Tag Gross, EliasArts' Executive Vice President & General Manager, New York, announced, "Joey will be joining a group of uniquely talented artists at Elias each of whom offer a distinct perspective on music and bring something amazing to every project we work on."

It is not known how the appointment will affect the Pixies' reunion. The band are scheduled to hit the European summer festival circuit this year. Pixies vocalist Black Francis has indicated that the band intend to record a long-awaited follow-up to 1991's 'Trompe Le Monde' album, although he has recently been more involved with his solo project, Frank Black and the Catholics.
