The end of a lesbian cheerleader era (Wizbang Pop!)

It was a mere 5 months ago that we learned the story of Angela Keathley and Renee Thomas, two Carolina Panther cheerleaders who, allegedly, got drunk, threw up in a bathroom, made out in a bathroom, and got into a fight in a bathroom. It had it all - it was the perfect story. It was just what Snoop Kevy Kev would post on the Wizbang Blog.

A simple post, sexist in nature, sure, but who wouldn't want to hear about drunk chicks making out and fighting? Apparently everyone wanted to hear about drunk chicks making out and fighting. Like, everyone. Seriously, it was one of the most read stories in the history of Wizbang.

In fact, I thought it was funny, so as soon as I saw it, I did the little trackback deal, and this one link (not even in the story, it was just one of the first couple of trackbacks) gave my little blog the best three days of traffic it has ever seen. We all got fat off that one story, but it didn't last. No, the fickle hand of fate soon took away our sweet, sweet lesbian cheerleader story's influence, dwindling to the 1 or 2 daily Google Search hits.

Sadly, the last chapter of this story has been written. Tampa Bay's 10 News reports that Victoria Renee Thomas will serve 12 months on probation, $400 in restitution, 50 hours of community service, and will participate in an 18-month pretrial intervention program. She also has to attend an anger management class, thus fending off any chance of another dream post.

Thank you Angela, thank you Renee, it's been a wild ride, and we'll truly miss you.
